Welcome!

Erin Gross is the founder of Land to Sea Rec Therapy. She is a Licensed Recreational Therapist (LRT) and Certified Recreational Therapist Specialist (CTRS). In other words, she helps people feel healthier and happier through meaningful recreation and leisure activities!

Erin created Land to Sea Rec Therapy to support her community by creating opportunities for everyone to spend time outdoors and connect with each other, the natural world, and themselves. She also wants to support her community in finding and accessing recreation that interests them, improves overall health, helps them meet their goals, and most importantly brings them joy.

Erin is grateful for her prior experiences that led her to Land to Sea Rec Therapy, as she feels they have given her the skills to support her community in the best way she can. Three main themes in her life that paved the way are connecting with nature, interest in activities, and helping others. Growing up exploring nature alone as well as with friends and family at her family home in Bucks County, PA, she learned the importance of connecting with the outdoors. Her dad and grandfather shared their love for fishing and the ocean with her, which brought her to study marine biology at UNCW. She was always doing crafts or art activities with her mom and grandmom, and this showed her how these activities help her process how she was feeling. She also enjoyed playing music and sports, which showed her how people can connect with each other through recreation. Lastly, she had a strong desire to help others, even at a young age, and she participated in many volunteer/service programs. She decided to get her master's in Recreational Therapy, where she could combine all three!

Professionally, Erin has worked with kids of all ages in typical indoor settings, including a childcare center, after school program, and babysitting/nannying. She has also worked as an environmental educator in outdoor settings, including the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Farm School By the Sea. Erin has experience working with individuals with disabilities of all ages as a Direct Support staff, Autism Technician, Supports Manager, and creator of inclusion programs while at the aquarium. She currently works as an outdoor educator at Three Pines Project along with being the founder and Recreational Therapist at Land to Sea Rec Therapy. Erin is so thankful for what she's learned from these experiences and is so excited to share this with her community!
